FEATURE HOMES

In July 2009 we were approached by a developer who owned two adjacent properties in Fendalton.  Both properties were 1930's weatherboard bungalows and the developer was interested to know if there was a market for both houses to be relocated to a new site.

We then received an enquiry from Caleb Ballin who was an acquaintance of the developer and we were able to facilitate an agreement for Caleb to purchase the two buildings for relocation to his Mt Pleasant property.

In conjunction with his designer Caleb developed a plan to create two modern rental homes on a very challenging site.  This involved garages being constructed under the raised houses.  One being a double garage and the other a single garage to create a point of difference.

Caleb was faced with carrying out some additional site works and erecting large retaining walls before the houses could be delivered to site.

Both houses were delivered to site, foundations constructed and the houses lowered onto the foundations using hydraulic jacks.  The client's builder then constructed the two garages and finally the two houses were tied down to the foundations and the garages.

After considerable renovation works including re roofing, plumbing and electrical upgrades, bathroom and kitchen updating, interior and exterior decorating and the construction of large decks.  Caleb now has two spectacular rental homes on a lovely Mt Pleasant site.
