Experience
One thing is for sure, shifting a building is not a job for the inexperienced. In our 20 years of operation we have successfully relocated over 2000 buildings from one bedroom granny flats to large character two storey homes.
We have developed our own special techniques and, in conjunction with the highly sophisticated equipment we use, we can cope with just about any assignment.
Equipment
At the heart of every building relocation job are our specialised, purpose built transporters with hydraulic self-levelling systems. We also have up to date specialised auxiliary equipment such as winching tractors, tandem drive gear trucks carrying equipment and hydraulic jacks to ensure that each relocation is completed with a minimum of disruption.
This specialised equipment is vital to eliminate twisting and stress on the building being relocated.
Our aim is to get the job done with minimum hassle, we offer our experience and expertise by providing two distinct services:
1. The relocation of client owned buildings from one site to another
2. We operate a second hand building source and supply facility where we match client's requirements with
suitable buildings
3. The valuation / assessment and purchase of suitable buildings for removal.
The Laing family have been involved in contracting and heavy machinery operations in the Canterbury region for three generations.
20 Years ago the Laing family established a separate Company to specialise in the relocation of homes and buildings from one site to another. Grant Laing purchased this Company in 1995 and has continued to operate this business ensuring the original guiding principals of offering a quality, professional and friendly service to our customers is retained.
Sometimes our services involve repositioning a building only a few metres to make a section suitable for subdividing. In other cases we relocate a wide range of homes including character bungalows, villas, granny flats, permanent material homes and new transportable homes to residential sections, country lifestyle blocks, and farms up to 300kms from their original site.

In July 2009 we were approached by a developer who owned two adjacent properties in Fendalton. Both properties were 1930's weatherboard bungalows and the developer was interested to know if there was a market for both houses to be relocated to a new site.
